As internet technology has developed, people use it more often for shopping, business and to communicate with others without meeting in person. In my opinion, the advantage of this development obviously outweighs the disadvantages because it facilitates an efficient business communication and boundless connectivity that significantly reduce associated expenses.
Nowadays, business meetings and communications are resorting to online platforms which are incredibly advantageous in terms of cost and time managements. Officials are no longer required travelling long distances to attend a meeting, they can connect their counterparts around the world anytime just by pressing a button. For example, previously, majority of multi-national corporations had annual staff trainings in their head offices which in turn could lead to a massive compensation to the employees for airline tickets or overnight accommodations. Whereas, currently the company budgets on transportation, venue fees, lunch boxes and other related expenses are decreasing dramatically as they are organizing board meetings online, regardless of the distance between the participants. However, though there are arguments that this excessive online interaction in deteriorating people’s real-life connectivity and emotional attachment among the family members and relatives, this effect is very insignificant comparing the benefits this change offers.
In addition, the internet technology helps the people who live in countryside. When they need to go to city for any reason, they can get the desired task done without going their physically. They can buy anything from home, or they can avail most of the government services online. For example, previously, if people wanted to get authority documents such as birth certificate, driver’s license, they had to go to the government office in person. Currently, the system has changed drastically that allow people to apply for most documents from home. As a consequence, wherever the people live in, they can get almost the same service that they could find physically.
In conclusion, regardless of some insignificant drawbacks, the ubiquitous application of internet is an incredibly blessing for us as it made our communication at fingertips and increased the contact efficiency by reducing associated costs.
