IELTS Task 2 Band 9 Sample Essay

Celebrities such as singer, they are always the centre of attention of media, and they choose to catch the public spotlight. Some people insist that they should not protest that media have their privacy invaded. I strongly disagree with this statement because intrusion into people’s personal life can lead to adverse outcomes.

Regardless of privacy protection laws, some people persistently chase famous individuals, break into their private life, and expose them to diverse dangers. Celebrities are also human, they have their personal feeling, happiness, and sorrow. If they are constantly trespassed and pictured as they are found, it distorts their normal life which can even lead them towards negative outcomes. The late princess Diana’s tragic death can come into this place as a perfect example. The car, carrying Diana, crashed into a pillar and killed the princess because it drove beyond the speed limit to escape from paparazzi. That means, the unspoken reason behind this terrific incident was people’s attempt to intrude into a popular figure’s normal commuting.

Furthermore, frequent trespassing on famous people might reveal their private information, which could fall into the hands of criminals and lead to a variety of crimes. Fanatical supporters also go after their idols in order to use their possessions as a sign of their attachment; but, in order to achieve this, they may turn to stealing, vandalism, or other violent methods, which are never acceptable in any way. Even sometimes, their kids are subjected to unwelcome media attention, which might seriously impair their ability to develop normally. Sometimes it is vital to prohibit the intruders from following the daily lives of the famous people in order to avoid these unpleasant outcomes.

To conclude, privacy protection is a fundamental human right and it is even more relevant when it comes to famous people, because the relentless intrusion of their private life can destroy their normal livings and expose them to adversities.
