Task 1 Map Band 9 Sample Report (1)

The maps display the current state of the town's centre and future development plans for Islip.

The biggest change will result from the construction of a ring road around the town's centre. This route's construction will be accompanied by a number of other initiatives in the retail and housing sectors.

On the current map of Islip, we can see that a major road cuts across the middle of the city from east to west. The proposed plan depicts how this road will be made pedestrian friendly. A dual road will be used as a detour for traffic, forming a ring around the town centre.

Currently, the main route is flanked by a row of stores. However, it looks that the businesses along the new pedestrian street's north side will be taken down to make room for a bus stop, a retail centre, a parking lot, and additional homes. The stores on the south side of the street will stay open, but it appears that the town park will be shrunk in order to allow for the construction of additional new houses inside the ring road.

Task 1 Map Band 9 Sample Report (2)

The illustrations depict proposed modifications to the central precinct of Islip town. It is evident that the foremost alteration will be the establishment of a circular thoroughfare surrounding the nucleus, which will entail other associated enhancements such as the construction of residential and commercial units.

An examination of the current map of Islip reveals that a primary roadway traverses the central part of the town from the east to the west. Conversely, the subsequent diagram displays the proposed conversion of this road to a pedestrian-only area, while a two-lane expressway will redirect vehicular traffic around the periphery of the township.

Presently, an array of shops line either side of the primary road. Nevertheless, it appears that the shops situated along the northern boundary of the novel pedestrian thoroughfare will be razed to pave the way for a bus terminal, mall, parking lot, and fresh residential precincts. The shops on the southern side of the street will remain, albeit the town's park may be reduced in size to accommodate additional housing units within the confines of the ring road.

Task 1 Map Band 8.5 Sample Report

The depictions of Islip's centre area visually illustrate the current situation and the town's development goals.

The creation of a circumferential road that encircles the centre district is among the designs' most important modifications. Along with this new roadway, several other retail and residential projects will be launched.

We can see that a major arterial highway runs through the city of Islip from east to west on the current map of the area. The suggested layout, however, shows how this route will be changed into a pedestrian-friendly boulevard that will be bypassed by the aforementioned ring road's two-lane motorway.

The current row of stores will be removed to make room for new construction, which will include a bus stop, a retail centre, a car park, and more housing units on the northern side of the planned pedestrian-friendly boulevard. Conversely, the stores situated on the southern side of the street will remain open, though it appears that the town park will be reduced in size to accommodate the construction of more homes inside the ring road.

Task 1 Map Band 8 Sample Report

The maps illustrate the current and proposed layouts of the town centre of Islip, depicting several changes to the area.

In general, the plans aim to modernize the town centre, constructing new facilities, and increasing housing. The main road running through the centre is to be closed to vehicles and made into a pedestrian area, while the two side roads are to be converted into a two-lane road system, extending northward to the countryside.

All the stores situated to the north of the main road will be cleared, and a shopping complex will be constructed in their place, complete with a bus terminal and parking area. New housing units will also be developed to the northeast of the main road.

On the southern side of the main road, some existing stores and housing will remain, although the residential units will be moved elsewhere. The park to the southeast of the town centre will be partially cleared, making way for the construction of additional residential buildings. Finally, the school will be expanded with the inclusion of a new building.
