Some contend that in order to maximize employee productivity, there should be minimum four weeks of vacation per year. I wholeheartedly concur with this statement since frequent vacations improve people's physical and emotional wellbeing, enabling them to return to the workplace motivated and reenergized. The notion will be further explained in the paragraphs that follow.


As per the Maslow’s principle, offering holidays is likely to meet employees’ must needed respect. Owing to the holiday, workers gain the opportunity to do whatever they want, such as accompanying with their families and friends and travelling to various cities. As a result, they become more aware of their right in terms of physical and psychological needs and develop a sense of humanistic concern for their firms. Also, it gives workers more incentive to accept companies’ culture, goals and ambitions which lead them to work with more motivations to perform better in order to achieve the company motive.


In addition, holidays can help employees to refresh their mental status and get back to work with a robust confidence to meet the challenge. Specially, if workers are allowed some freedom to choose their leave, it could provide them more quality time to deal with their sadness, anger, chagrin and stress from exhaustive workloads. In conclusion, it is obvious that regular holidays must be available to employees, as it is directly linked to their well beings and efficiency. Otherwise, they might work hard and longer time as firm owners expect, but of no avail due to low motivation and efficiency.
