IELTS Task 1 Table Band 9 Sample Report

The table gives information about the percentage spending on four areas, namely food and drink, housing, clothing, and entertainment of monthly household income in five European countries.


Overall, food and drink and housing secured the highest expense, and clothing mostly remained the lowest for all the countries. Meanwhile, France, Germany and Turkey spent their maximum percentage of household earning on housing, whereas Turkey and Spain spent their highest on food and drink.


Almost all the five countries spent more than 50% of their household income on food and drink and housing areas. UK spent highest 64% in these sectors, followed by 56% spent by France and Turkey each. All the five countries spent only around 20% of their household earnings on clothing and entertainment. Specially, entertainment is the least spent area where France and Spain spent only 7% and 8%, respectively.


On the other hand, with the expense of 31%, 33%, and 37%, respectively, France, Germany and UK used their highest portion of household income in housing sector. However, Turkey and Spain spent their maximum, 36% and 31%, respectively, in food and drink purposes. Though Turkish households spent 12% in clothing and UK households spent 11% for both clothing and entertainment, the other three countries spent their least on clothing sector.
