The pie charts show the numerous causes that contributed to aircraft delays in several Asian countries in 2015 and 2016.

Overall, in both years, airline operation management was the leading cause behind the delayed air travels, followed by mostly the air traffic control and poor weather conditions.

In 2015, airline operation management caused two fifths of the overall flight schedule interruptions, while one fourth and about one fifth of the total deferrals occurred because of the difficulties with air traffic control and adverse weather, respectively. Military elements were the causes behind 10 percent of the entire aircraft delays in 2015, while airport security is responsible for only 4 percent of the overall flight disruptions of a particular Asian country in 2015.

In contrast, airline operation management issues caused 6 percent more flight postponements in 2016 than that of 2015, while the air traffic control system sourced 13% fewer deferments than it caused in the previous year. However, in 2016, the impact of adverse weather and airport security issues on flight schedules grew from 21% to 23% and 4% to 13%, respectively. Military-related delays in 2016 decreased from 10% to 6%, making them the nation's least common cause of delays in all air travel.
