The line graph depicts the number of visitors that travelled to a certain Caribbean island during the seven-year span, from 2010 to 2017. While some people remained on the island, others were on cruise ships.


The overall number of visitors to the Caribbean island kept increasing at a stable rate throughout the time under consideration. By the end of 2017, the number of visitors staying aboard cruise ships quadrupled, whilst the volume of tourists on the island had increased by three times.


Looking into the data, the number of total arrivals followed mostly an upward trend over the whole period. It started from 1 million tourists in 2010, which steadily grew to roughly 2.7 million in 2015. It began to rise substantially again after hitting a plateau for a year, and eventually reached a total of 3.5 million arrivals in 2017.


The volume of tourists welcomed aboard cruise ships was at 0.2 million in 2010, fluctuating over the next two years until rising sharply to 2 million in 2017. However, there were only about 0.8 million tourists who chose to spend their holiday on the island in 2010, and that number only increased to 1.5 million over the next three years. Instead of experiencing a slight fall in 2016, this value remained stable till the end of the considered period.
