Overall, Denmark leads the per person annual average travel distance both by car and the other stated modes. With just over 12,000 and roughly 30,000 kilometres per person by car and by the other stated means, respectively, people in Denmark travel the highest distance each year. France, Italy, and the United Kingdom with about 12000, 11000 and 10000 kilometres, correspondingly, occupy the second, third and the fourth highest travel per person by car. However, when it comes to journey by other modes, such as bus, train, metro and bike, Italy occupies the second highest position with 1100 kilometres per year, while all the other 4 nations remain at around 1000 kilometres.
