IELTS Task 1 Bar Chart Band 9 Sample Report

The bar chart provided depicts the distribution of visitors across three distinct groups of Canadian residents, namely, new immigrants born in English-speaking nations, new immigrants born abroad, and those born in Canada. The chart showcases the relative proportion of individuals visiting four prominent locations, namely, cinema, library, theatre, and zoo.

On the whole, the data reveals that cinema stands out as the most sought-after destination across all visitor categories, with the highest percentage share of total visitors. In contrast, theatre remains the least frequented location among all three visitor groups.

Cinema emerged as the most popular destination with at least 50% of visitors from each category. However, the theatre, which failed to attract more than 25% of any visitor category, proved to be the least popular destination among Canadian residents. The data also highlights that people born in Canada and migrants from English-speaking countries visit the cinema at a significantly higher rate than new immigrants born in other countries. Meanwhile, the library turned out to be the second most visited location among new immigrants born in non-English speaking countries, with approximately 55% of visitors opting for it. Additionally, both the library and zoo attracted a considerable number of visitors from all three categories of Canadian residents.

In contrast, theatre fared poorly, with the lowest percentage of visitors across all three categories of Canadian residents. While new immigrants born in other English-speaking countries attended at a rate of 25%, new immigrants born in non-English-speaking countries had the lowest attendance rate of around 10%. Although Canadian-born residents had a significant attendance rate of 20% at the theatre, this sector remained the least visited location among the four popular destinations.
